Man United hit hitch in Kostas Manolas chase
In case you’ve been living in a bunker for the past year, Man United are looking for a new defender. Things have improved under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but United are still keen to land a top defensive target in January and have reportedly set eyes on Roma’s Kostas Manolas.
The Greece international would cost €36 million due to a release clause in his contract, but there’s a problem: it does not become active until after the January transfer window, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The paper reports that United are in talks with Roma over a possible move for the 27-year-old, but the Sun claims they also have a backup plan in Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
